Covid-19 Proposed Best Practices

Updated (TBA for 2022)
Based on current or future recommendations and policies of Provincial Health Authorities within BC, Kynoch Adventures will adopt the following Best Practices during interim operational periods in 2022 and may adjust these as needed during this time period or beyond as may be required. Unless explicitly outlined below, all other Terms and Conditions remain applicable.

Please review these interim guidelines prior to your arrival to help ease into & through this transitional period. 



Before Your Tour

Please review all details provided below before you arrive at our office or designated meeting point for your tour.

  • Please review our General Tour FAQ prior to arrival to ensure you are aware of our standard policies to reduce questions and interaction related to tour logistics prior to the tour. Our FAQ Info Sheet is available here. NOTE: Exceptions to Food and Beverages will be made during the transitional period only. See Below.
  • Please print and sign a Waiver and Release Form in advance of your arrival.  Waivers are available for Download Here.
  • Review your tour Meeting Location. BEAR TOURS meet at Fisheries pool Campground, guests are required to drive there, approximately 35 minutes east of our office.  All other tours meet at our office unless directed otherwise at time of booking. Bea Tour guests do not meet at our office.
  • Bella Coola is a small, isolated rural community with limited amenities and supplies. It is REQUIRED that each guest bring a Non Medical style face mask with them to each tour. Instruction on when the mask may be required to be worn will be provided on best advise from health care professionals at that time. It is advisable that guests bring a personal portion of hand sanitizer on each tour.
  • Guests will be permitted up to 1 litre of drinking water and one small snack in a factory sealed package on tours. Kynoch Adventures will not be serving snacks or beverages on any tours in 2021. ONLY factory sealed single portion servings of a non-odorous snack, such as a granola bar, or similar type will be permitted. Snacks are only to be consumed at a designated location on the tour as instructed by the guides or management.

Arrival for Your Tour

  • NOTE; Eco Rafting and Hiking Tours will meet at our Office in Hagensborg.  Bear Viewing Tours will meet at Fisheries Pool Campground in Tweedsmuir Park.
  • On tours departing  our office in Hagensborg please remain outside of the building; either in your car or in an open outside area practicing 2 m social distancing as may be required.
  • A Kynoch Staff member will meet you outside and guests will be asked to come in to our office in groups of no more than four (4) at a time. Waivers and Payment will be processed at this time. If you are traveling on a Travel Agent VOUCHER please present it at this time.
  • Prior to entrance to our office hand sanitizer or a hand wash station will be provided, and required to be used by each guest entering the building.  It is advisable that guests bring a personal portion of hand sanitizer on each tour for their convenience and safety.
  • Guests will be required to agree to the following conditions related to Covid-19 health issues or potential symptoms: 
    -
    -Guests do not exhibit known symptoms of Covid-19
    --Guests are willing to abide by Health Precautions as may be requested by Kynoch Staff or Regulatory Agencies

    --Guests have followed all appropriate Health Advisories prior to arrival at the Tour provided by Kynoch Adventures

Transportation To/From Your Tour Departure

  • Under current circumstances (2022 operating season) guests will be asked to drive their own vehicles to the meeting point/boat launch to best implement Social Distancing.
  • Vehichle transportation is required for Bear Tours in guests own vehicles. It is advised all guests arrive in Bella Coola with a vehicle to gain access to the tour locations which are approximately  35 minutes drive from our Office. 
  • Owing to Logistics there may be times when Kynoch Adventures is required to transport guests short distances in our passenger vehicles. during these periods we will accommodate appropriate Social Distancing or alternative practices (e.g., Face Masks) as required.  This also may require a waiting period for transportation or other logistical considerations based on Covid 19 protocols..
  • Kynoch Adventures cannot pick up guests en-route to a tour location, nor can we facilitate group transportation unless that group is in self isolation together and can be transported in the same common carrier such as a Tour Van.
  • During Your Tour (River Based)

  • During your tour seating will be arranged on the boats as required to provide as much distancing as possible or wearing of Face Masks as necessitated by Provincial Health Authorities. .
  • Hand sanitizer will be provided at entry into and during the tour portion of any boat or required vehicle transit operations. It is advisable that guests bring a personal portion of hand sanitizer on each tour.
  • No Food or Beverages will be provided by Kynoch Adventures. Inquire about your own snacks, these are highly regulated and Kynoch Adventures will NOT permit any food/snacks/fruit that are not in factory sealed packaging on any tour.

During Your Tour (Land Based)

  • Please inquire regarding your specific tour, as these are typically custom outings.
  • Hand sanitizer will be provided at entry into and during the tour portion of any boat or required vehicle transit operations.
  • No Food or Beverages will be provided by Kynoch Adventures. Inquire about your own snacks, these are highly regulated and Kynoch Adventures will NOT permit any food/snacks/fruit that are not in factory sealed packaging on any tour.

After Your Tour

  • On Tour Completion, Kynoch Adventures will return guests to their own vehicles to continue on with their own adventures.
  • Gratuities for guides or staff will be accepted in advance by Credit Card on arrival, or cash after the tour.

As these are unprecedented times for global tourism Kynoch Adventures will strive to make the transition to normalized tours as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work through these challenges. Guides, Staff and Management look forward to seeing you in some capacity in 2020 and beyond!
